Most yachts finish their South Pacific cruise on the western side. It is easier sailing the islands from east to west. This continues the westward sailing to the Mediterranean, North Atlantic or Caribean by the easiest and most pleasant route: north about Australia, south about Africa and a marvelous sail in the South Atlantic.
