Nautical Chart Title: SC5604 The Channel Islands Folio
Publication Date: January, 1998
Latest Edition: May, 2009
Published by: UK Hydrographic Office
Size: A2
This Admiralty Leisure folio contains a full set of nautical charts covering the Channel Islands; a collective of independent bailiwicks and British Crown dependencies that, although typically grouped together, are not constitutionally or politically linked and instead have specific relationships and establishments with the UK and EU.
The folio consists mainly of key routes and approaches from mainland England, The Isle of Wight and France to the islands of Guernsey, Jersey and Alderney. Aside from a minority of Channel Islanders with no parent or grandparent from the UK (who've not been a resident in the UK for a five-year period), all residents of the islands are full British citizens who can apply for a passport that allows them to travel as freely as any other European citizen.
Under the UK Interpretation Act 1978, The Channel Islands are deemed to be part of the British Islands, which (for the sake of nationality) is distinct from the British Isles in that it specifically includes the United Kingdom (Great Britain and Northern Island), the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.
All of our Admiralty Leisure Folios are printed on heavyweight paper, and come packaged in a plastic wallet. They are compiled to the same exacting standards and detailed information as all our admiralty charts, used by professional mariners and the Royal Navy.
